Full course description
HS PE Intro to Fitness B is a one-semester course designed for high school students worth .5 credit. The course focuses on holistic physical fitness and the health benefits of regular physical activity as well as the benefits of a long-term exercise program. This class includes mindfulness, yoga, HIIT, and mental health. Schedule this class for FALL or SPRING, as titled in Engage.
As students work through the course, they will learn about the many aspects of physical fitness including the importance of flexibility, cardiovascular health, muscle and strength training, and realistic goal setting. In addition, students maintain a PE activity tracker that documents their progress in the course exercises, and personal fitness goals.
